The world is surprised and dismayed that Western Islamists would hail the takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban as a success.
If one were to take the time to read through the Sunnah, this would come as no surprise. If one were to visit certain mosques and listen to their sermons, this would come as no surprise.
Finding controversial material in Canada that coincides with the Taliban ideology is relatively easy if you know where to look. We know for certain that Canadian politicians consider the Taliban their brothers. This fact has slipped out of the public eye rather quickly.
Islamists throughout the west have been singing the praises of the Taliban success in Afghanistan. Some quotes from some prominent individuals and groups:
May Allah bless and give continuous victory to those who establish the Sharia of Allah on this earth, despite the fact that the kuffar and the hypocrites hate it.You make the Ummah proud!
“Congratulations to #Taliban and the people of Afghanistan on the rebirth of the Islamic Emirate!
“Whether you like the #IslamicEmirateOfAfghanistan (aka #Taliban) or not, they are now in power. As long as their mandate is to rule by Islam and not man-made ideologies and systems of governance, they should be supported.”
Islamist Watch has been keeping a running list of similar comments, you can read more here.
One of the organizations on this list is of particular interest to us not only because of their connections to Canada, but how the teachings of the Canadian arm of this organization echo the Taliban ideology.
The ICNA North American branch has posted a statement with regards to the situation in Afghanistan, and though it is far more innocuous than some of the other statements, ICNAs connections belie their sincerity.
As Americans, we stand for democracy and government by the people, for the people. It is time that we let the people of Afghanistan freely choose their leadership and the way of government.
It is very encouraging that the new leadership in Afghanistan has declared that they will respect human rights, with particular mention made of women and minorities.
Pegida Canada and our partners have studied and written extensively on Islamist viewpoints in Canada. One particularly blatant example is an online teaching course put out by Islamic Circle of North America, Canada. According to ICNA Canada’s online syllabus, Islam is totally incompatible with democracy. Within this course, a book called ‘The Gardens of the Righteous’ is studied.
The Gardens of the Righteous (Arabic: Riyadh as-Salihin), is a compilation of verses from the Qur’an and hadith by Al-Nawawi. It contains a total of 1905 hadith divided across 372 chapters, many of which are introduced by verses of the Quran.
Within this book, you will find the following modern commentary on hadith:
This spirit and readiness must be kept always alive so that the Muslims may respond at once to the call of Jihad whenever the need for it arises anywhere.
“The political system of Islam is totally incompatible with western democracy.”
film songs or musical notes are played on record-players, or jesters and buffoons are brought in to amuse and entertain them. This is all satanic work, forbidden and unlawful, having no place in Islam.”
Free mixing of men and women is a common evil in the West
the Qur’an has declared that when you have to appoint or choose witnesses among women, you should choose two in place of one man.
if someone commits a crime which is punishable by Hadd this will be certainly imposed on him, or her, i.e., cutting of hand in case of theft, one hundred stripes or stoning to death in case of fornication
The above examples are just a few of many to be found within this online course. This course is freely available for study.
Located at 391 Burnhamthorpe Rd., East, Oakville, Ontario, ICNA Canada emphasizes that “the propagation of true and universal message of Islam is only possible in Canada when whole Canadian Muslim Community transformed into a Dawah community by practicing and propagating the true Islamic Way of Life. With the vision of building an exemplary Canadian Muslim community it is very important to spread the word of Islam…”
